The George Brazil team attended quite a few expos, events, and home shows throughout January and February this year. Additionally, we have occupied two local mall kiosks (Superstition Springs Center and Chandler Fashion Center), all in efforts to make scheduling an appointment and asking those determining questions more convenient for our customers in the Phoenix area.

We want you to stop and ask our team the questions you have about home energy efficiency and we want to save you the time of having to schedule an appointment when you just have a simple opinion-question. Along with making things convenient for you this year, we wanted to help out. At each show, event, or expo we have attended this year, we have been collecting entry slips for a chance to win a new water heater and installation.

We have a winner for February and our winner is Sarah Taylor of Gilbert, Arizona.

Sarah and her husband entered our drawing at the Phoenix Home & Garden Show at the State Fair Ground this past February. We installed Sarah’s new water heater this past week and were able to interview her quick about her experience through this whole, unexpected process. Here is what she had to say…

Were you considering purchasing a new water heater unit previous to us giving one to you for the giveaway?
It was on our wish list since my husband is getting deployed to Afghanistan and ours was 10 years old!

How did you and your husband feel when you found out you won a new water heater?
I have to say that we were both really excited about it. We were really surprised because neither one of us thought that anyone really ever won anything at the home shows! I am thinking next time we will fill out more forms!

How was your experience with our team throughout the water heater installation?
Everyone was really wonderful!

Are there any comments you would like included in our winner write-up?
I feel really blessed to have won such a wonderful gift. I know that it has eased my Hubby’s mind knowing that one thing is crossed off his list of worries while he is deployed.

Thank you, to Sarah Taylor for entering our water heater giveaway drawing and allowing our George Brazil team to install a new unit. We are glad this brings some peace of mind to your husband and family. Our best wishes are with you all while he is away.

Our next drawing will be March 30th 2012 at 3pm MST. We will contact the winner by phone and email. The winner has 24 hours to respond to our notifications before we draw a new winner. If you would like to enter the March 30th drawing, please stop by our Superstition Springs Mall kiosk booth on the bottom floor of the mall and tell our representative that you would like to enter our water heater giveaway drawing. Good luck everyone!!

Over the last 62 years, owner George Brazil, has been designing and modifying service trucks to prepare every technician for whatever a service call may require. In the mid 1980′s, the George Brazil team introduced the Warehouse on Wheels at the Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors Association of the Greater Los Angeles Area (PHCC GLAA) Expo.

George Brazil knew there was a way to load the truck with anything and everything a plumbing, heating and cooling technician would need, from nuts and bolts to water heaters and entire toilets. By filling the truck with as much equipment as possible, the technician could respond more quickly to calls or emergencies with the actual parts needed to make the repair. However, he also understood there was a science to organizing the truck in a way that made it quick and easy for the technician to find whatever they needed within a moment’s notice. For over half a century now he has been constantly re-evaluating the equipment on each truck and discovering new ways to fit more. All packed in neatly and efficiently, the tools and equipment loaded onto each truck number in the thousands and have a total value of nearly $25,000. The inventory is actively counted every six weeks and adjusted according to business demands and seasonal needs.

The cube of the truck isn’t the only thing impressive about each truck, though. Every truck is fitted with an on board tracking system so the dispatch center knows exactly how close each technician is to the next call and to locate the truck nearest you, saving you precious time in an emergency. Seven inch LCD screens in each cab, show the driver the rear view, allowing them to drive safely in forward or reverse. Even the signature orange and white paint job on each truck has been taken to the next level. George spent over 20 years developing the orange paint to be colorfast and fade-resistant and now invests $500 on a single gallon.

When it comes to service and efficiency, George Brazil has got it down to an exact science. He has spared no expense and considered every single detail to ensure the truck is where it needs to be at all times; in front of the client. Often referred to as George’s Ultimate Service Truck, the Warehouse on Wheels is a prime example of George’s commitment to being the best (and most prepared) plumbing heating and cooling service in the valley.

The holidays are over and January is here! It should be a winter wonderland and somehow we are still enjoying beautiful weather in the 70’s! Let the warm weather be a reminder of the hot summer to come and be sure to beat the rush on having your air conditioning unit properly maintained.

The last thing you want at the start of a long summer is to turn on your air conditioner only to discover it isn’t working appropriately. And even small problems which may not be immediately noticeable can lead to inefficiencies that will have a huge impact on your utility bill. A properly maintained ac unit is more likely to last longer and require fewer repairs throughout the life of the unit. With a George Brazil 47-Point A/C Tune-up, we guarantee your air conditioning system is not only working, but that it’s working at its highest possible efficiency.

Call George Brazil today and ask one of our knowledgeable customer service representatives to schedule you an appointment to have your A/C maintained. You’ll be so happy you called now, that you’ll stop worrying about the summer to come and enjoy this beautiful weather while it lasts.

The kitchen is the busiest room in any home. It is where we cook each of our meals and entertain our guests. It is well known that even people who do not cook very often prefer to have a kitchen that is large and has all the necessary conveniences. When we move into a new home there may be certain things lacking that we can improve upon.

There are various types of kitchen flooring, kitchen cabinets, color schemes, designs, etc. that people can choose from when remodeling a kitchen.

When remodeling the kitchen one of the first things we will change is the floor. This has seen years of wear and tear from people walking over it and dishes crashing and breaking on top of it. It is time to replace it with something that looks new, will help to transform the look of your kitchen, and will last for many years.

Different types of flooring:

Wood Flooring

Linoleum Flooring

Bamboo Flooring

Stone Flooring

The easiest way to help make this decision is to explore the various options that you have. Compare how they will look in your kitchen, how expensive they are, and if they are easy to clean.

There are some kitchens that are so perfect that we cannot believe how lucky we are to be using them. There are others of us who are in semi-perfect kitchens. Everything seems ok – but for one small problem. Usually that problem lies in the type of cabinets that are in it. You will be surprised how changing out the cabinets will transform your whole kitchen.

When trying to choose what type of cabinets you want to put in the first thing you have to think about is what style they should be in. The most common is the contemporary design – which is a mixture of traditional and modern styles. This is the safest and one of the best styles to use because it allows you to be more flexible with the color and the size that they are.

After you have chosen the style it is time to move on to the materials that you wish to use. If you chose the contemporary style than the answer is easy – wood. Wood is the safest and the most versatile. It is easy to clean, durable, and does not easily dent. You can keep it a light or dark wood color or you can paint over it. Before you paint it though you will have the option of creating unique patterns that are etched into the face of the cabinet.

If you chose to use the modern style than you will have more options to choose from. Wood and stainless steel are the most common choices to use. Stainless is the more expensive choice and looks great in the right modern kitchen. The downside to it is that fingerprints show up easily on it and it takes almost nothing for something to dent it.

That’s not something you want to ever have to say, but it happens, especially in Arizona. Before you call a 24-hour air conditioning service or an Arizona emergency air conditioning company, there are a few things you can check yourself to hopefully narrow down the problem:

Is the unit blowing air through the system? Check the thermostat and see if it’s set on “automatic” or “on.” Check all the circuit breakers and fuse boxes (remember that there may be different breakers for different circuits, so check them all).

Is the outdoor unit running, but not the fan? Could be a dirty or clogged filter or coil, or the blower’s motor might be defective.

Check the lines at the outside unit. Are they iced over? Your evaporator or filter might be dirty, or your unit could be low on refrigerant. Running low on refrigerant is a pretty common problem, one that can also result in a unit that runs almost constantly. Replacing refrigerant isn’t terribly expensive, but if it’s leaking, it’s best for the tech to diagnose where the leak is coming from and repair it.

Is your thermostat not holding the temperature you set it for? The thermostat may need to be calibrated, or it may have failed. Thermostats are usually not terribly expensive, and your city’s utility department may be moving toward smart programmable thermostats anyway.

Are some rooms warmer than others? Check and see if your dampers are working in those rooms.

Does the outdoor unit not come on at all? It could be a wiring problem or switch problem outside. Or…it could be a fire ant infestation. Don’t laugh! Fire ants are drawn to electrical fields, and it’s a very common problem.

One thing is for sure. In the middle of an Arizona summer, going without your air conditioning isn’t an option. But before calling one of the 24-hour air conditioning services Phoenix has to offer, it’s good to at least be informed of what you’re up against.
